A small friendly pub located in the heart of Reigate, packed to the rafters with character. Supplying local ales and an array of premium lager, wine and spirits.

WE ARE AN OVER 18s ONLY VENUE

What's goes down

During the summer months we host live solo and duo acoustic bands in our secret courtyard. Throughout the winter we have an open fire and several more events to come…so stay tuned. We also offer the option to hire out The Bell for private functions. We like to keep the pub open for everyone as often as we can, so the dates for hiring the Bell are limited so get in touch as soon as you can to reserve your date.

Our History

The building was constructed in the 18th Century and originally double the size, sharing its doors with the building to the left which was the Saloon bar until the 19th Century. Originally called The Great and then the Bricklayers arms, it was eventually bought by Greene King in 1990. Now under tenancy of the new owners since June 2024!

Our Menu

We do not offer food, however everyone is more than welcome to bring in their own or; there are a number of restaurants within walking distance on the high street that you can order a delivery from.

Awesome pub, shame about Sunday night! I've been using The Bell for many years, as after a walk, it's a handy spot to enjoy some excellent beers before the train. The Bell is a very cosy pub, really friendly, with a smashing back yard and they play good music. Above all though, the beer selection is fantastic, ever changing and with local beers always available! The only turn-off for me is that they've recently started closing early on Sundays, with everything over by eight o'clock. At this time of year, Pilgrim brewery is often finished by then on a Sunday, so beyond that time now, one's really hard pushed to find any beer worth drinking in the town. I can understand that on a really quiet night, paying a staff member wipes out much of the profit. In somewhere with a live in licensee though, would it really be the worst thing in the world for the landlord to be bored in their own pub for a few hours, if only as a gesture of good will to loyal customers, that enjoyed the option of a Sunday evening?!

The best pub in Reigate The pub is nicely laid out with a long bar and plenty of seating. Also outside court yard for when the weather is nice. Great selection of beers including local breweries like By The Horns Brewery in particular. Highly recommended

Best pub in Reigate A nice cosy pub in the middle of Reigate. It has a nice range of beers and a nice atmosphere. As well as wood panelled it’s got a garden out back.

Best Beer in Reigate Great beer choice. Harry Sparrow cider my favourite. Lovely garden with state of the art sun/rain shade. BUT they never seem to open on time. Website says midday but I visited on four consecutive days last week at midday and they were shut !

Best pub in Reigate! The bell is definitely my favourite pub in Reigate. Over the years I’ve been in so many times (including Christmas Eve which is always fun). Food is always 10/10 (Bell burgers used to have a kind of cult status among my friends haha) and service is always great. Also really enjoy the little beer garden out back which looks great since they’ve re-done it.
